By the time you buy a new motor and housing you might as well buy a whole new unit. now that the housing is melted it doesn't give enough air flow thru the unit to keep it cool so after 5 minutes of running It starts smelling like melted plastic. I have to shut it down and let it cool every 5 minutes. This unit has worked great for the first couple of years. jz I ordered a new motor for 75 dollars and installed it. Then this year the small fan blade on the end of the motor shaft fell off allowing it to over heat and melt the housing that the moter sits in. the problem is.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The key is in making ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN your ash is completely cool. One bag will easily take me through the entire winter season, and during the summer months I will be able to use the vacuum for other purposes. The suction is fantastic, and the large optional filtering bag further enhances the vacuums already excellent filtration.
In searching for the right ash vacuum to clean my Harman Accentra pellet stove, I settled on this unit, and I am confident I made the right choice. And what about customer service. My only concern has to do with the latches and wheels, which could be designed with a bit more durability in mind. Although this unit is not designed specifically for cleaning stove ash, due to the possibility of sucking up hot coals or pellets, it nevertheless serves this purpose very well.
I fabricated a few accessories myself to assist in the intricate aspects of cleaning my pellet stove, and now have the perfect system for the job. The LOVELESS company will be there for you if you have a problem. In fact, I think in many respects it's performance is superior to the devoted ash vacuums the LOVELESS company offers. In the case of a pellet stove, this is not very difficult to determine.
Using the combination of the Love-Less Vac, the blower and door/curtain all at once really has solved the problem; the Vac is the heart of the solution. And you need to be deligent about moving the 4x10 around to where you are working and when you are sweeping and it is important to use the vacuum bags. Not any more. P.S. It is worth every penny I paid for it and I wish I had purchased it years ago; all the other vacs I purchased (for much less) were worthless. I am a general contractor specializing in residential remodeling.
But, there was always a fine layer of dust left behind that covered everything in the house. I still use my blower with a hose to blow dust out any nearby window and keep the doors closed or hang up an appropriate curtain. I have tried so hard in the past to do the best I can to keep the dust down particularly during demolition activities. I adapted a 4" x 10" register vent / starting collar to the system so as to create a larger collection orifice. what started me on the quest to find this vac was that I was told it was used by contruciton companies doing work in hospitals where dust collection was an absolute requirement. I had a blower that I would hang out a window and a good old wet/dry vac.
This vacuum has solved my problems.
Simple operation.Minus- None so far, however, only used for 6 months.Lacking- Same vac available in a small size. Plus- Excellant results.
I'll never sand drywall again without this vac. I did the first half of the garage with just a hand sander and the dust was everywhere, I looked like a ghost when I would stop sanding and had to wear a respirator to keep from breathing the dust. I did not even have to change the bag until the job was done. This drywall vac really works. Love-Less has a great product here, even my wife likes it.Vacuum Drywall Hand Sander I used this vac to sand out the drywall in my 30 x 40 x 12 foot garage with a mesh hand sander hooked to the 12 foot hose that comes with the vac. Regular vacuums get plugged up quick with the fine drywall sanding dust. Sanded out half tha garage with it and did not have to sweep up a bit of drywall dust - didn't even have to wear a mask, the exhaust from the vac is so clean.
